What we do

What we do

INDECOS works alongside communities to strengthen lives, expand opportunities, and support lasting change. Our work is grounded in the belief that people already hold the knowledge, strengths, and potential to shape their own futures.

Across Sri Lanka, we partner with women, youth, children, persons with disabilities, and other underserved groups to improve standards of living through practical, community-led solutions. We focus on building skills, strengthening systems, and creating pathways for people to participate fully in social and economic life.

Our approach brings together training, education, and awareness to address real needs in communities. We support individuals to gain knowledge, develop livelihoods, and access opportunities, while also working with local structures to ensure that change is inclusive and sustainable.

Gender equality and social inclusion are central to everything we do. We work to remove barriers that limit participation and ensure that women and marginalized groups have equal access to resources, decision-making, and economic opportunities.

We also respond to emerging challenges faced by communities, including health needs, environmental concerns, and social protection. Through partnerships with local and international actors, we connect communities to wider networks of support and learning.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to participation. We listen, we engage, and we co-create solutions with communities. This ensures that the work is relevant, owned, and able to create meaningful and lasting impact.
